Namaste,
I am Vivek Arya, a history educator and researcher with a strong academic background and a clear focus on teaching and public learning. I completed my matriculation from SVM, Muzaffarnagar in 2015 and my senior secondary education in the humanities stream from KIC, Kakrauli in 2017, securing first division in both.
I pursued my undergraduate studies at the University of Delhi, where I completed a B.A. (Programme) in 2021 with History as my major subject and Political Science as my minor. To deepen my understanding of the past and historical methods, I joined Jamia Millia Islamia, a Central University, and completed my M.A. in History in 2023 with first-class distinction. During this period, my academic interests developed around archaeology, cultural change, and historiography.
Alongside my formal degrees, I have completed several academic and skill-based programmes. These include a PG Diploma in Cultural and Folklore Studies (IGNOU, 2024), a Certificate Course in Tribal Studies (IGNOU, 2021), an Appreciation Course in Environmental Studies (UPRTOU, 2022), a Certificate in Russian Language from CCSU (2023), and an A-grade Course on Computer Concepts from NIELIT (2021). All were completed in first division.
To strengthen my teaching practice, I completed the coursework for a Bachelor of Education from Chaudhary Charan Singh College of Education, Meerut, with final results awaited. I have taught senior secondary History at Radha Govind Public School and am currently working as PGT History at BNG International School.
My teaching approach focuses on clear explanation, use of sources, discussion-based learning, and regular assessment. I aim to make NCERT History meaningful and accessible, especially for board examination students. My research interests lie at the intersection of archaeology, folklore, and environmental history.
This academic and teaching experience comes together on my digital platform, vivekarya.site, where I share structured notes, quizzes, and video content for Class 10 and 12 students. The goal is simple: to provide reliable, syllabus-based learning material to students, regardless of their location or background.
Beyond teaching and research, I enjoy reading historical fiction, improving my spoken Russian, and participating in heritage walks. These experiences continue to shape my understanding of history as a living and evolving discipline.
Looking ahead, I plan to integrate tools such as GIS mapping, 3D visualisation, and oral history into my archaeological research, and to expand my online platform into a broader learning space for students across South Asia and the global Indian community.
