BNG International School, Meerut (UP)

Namaste,

I'm Vivek Arya, an emerging scholar and educator whose academic path reflects an enduring commitment to excellence, interdisciplinarity, and public service. Graduating with first-division in matriculation at SVM, Mirpur, Muzaffarnagar in 2015 and replicating that achievement in the humanities stream at KIC Kakrauli in 2017, I progressed to the University of Delhi, where I secured a first-division B.A. (Programme) in 2021, majoring in History and minoring in Political Science. Determined to deepen my grasp of the past, I joined Jamia Millia Islamia, A Central University and completed an M.A. in History in 2023 with first-class distinction, an experience that sharpened my interest in archaeological method, cultural change, and historiography. Parallel to formal degrees, I have pursued a suite of specialised programmes: a PG Diploma in Culture and Folklore Studies from IGNOU (2024, first division), a Certificate in Tribal Studies from IGNOU (2021, first division), an Appreciation Course in Environmental Studies from UPRTOU (2022, first division), a Certificate in Russian Language from the Department of Foreign Languages, CCSU (2023, first division), and an A-grade qualification in the Course on Computer Concepts from NIELIT (2021). To translate scholarship into pedagogy, I completed the coursework for a Bachelor of Education at Chaudhary Charan Singh College of Education, Meerut, where final results are awaited, and honed classroom craft by teaching senior secondary history at Radha Govind Public School before assuming my present post as PGT History at BNG International School. My teaching philosophy marries narrative history with source analysis, inquiry-based discussion, and formative assessment to demystify NCERT syllabi for board aspirants, while my research agenda foregrounds the dialogue between archaeology, folklore, and environmental history. These intertwined strands converge in my digital initiative VivekArya.site, a platform that curates concise notes, interactive quizzes, and video lectures for Class 10 and 12 students, aiming to democratise access to quality resources irrespective of geography or income. In the rare moments when I am not drafting lesson plans, coding website features, or cataloguing potsherds, you will find me reading historical fiction, practising spoken Russian, or volunteering for heritage walks, all of which remind me that learning never ends. Grounded in rigorous training yet animated by curiosity and empathy, I continue to learn, teach, and research with undiminished enthusiasm, convinced that the past, when taught well, can empower the present and illuminate the future. Looking ahead, I aspire to integrate GIS mapping, 3-D visualisation, and oral history projects into my archaeological research, and to expand my online platform into a hub serving learners across South Asia and the diaspora.
